Mark MacFarlane (Jan 2026) Mark expresses his gratitude for R80,000 raised by the Class of '84 towards a new mobility scooter (not only from those in Southern Africa, but as far afield as China, Australia and the UK). "Good evening to all my fellow Alexandrians class of 84.I was told by one of our teachers at our 40 year reunion that he considers the class of 84 as the best and most memorable year in his years teaching at Alex .Well when Arne removed me from the [WhatsApp] group so that he could mention on the group my mobility needs and other needs, my wife and I were Bowled over with the kindness and generosity of the boys from our class of 1984. We thank each and every one of you that graciously gave of yourselves to improve my mobility inside and around my home. I know who each one of you is. But I also know that there are many more of you who, due to financial constraints, were unable to participate. I have attached a couple of pictures of my mobility, Ferrari. As you can see, my drive is very steep, and there is no way I could take a wheelchair up my very steep drive. God has truly blessed me with great friends who I will cherish for the rest of my life. A huge thank you hug for each of you 🙏🙏🙏 "
